In October 1959, Nutan got married to Rajnish Bahl, a naval Lieutenant Commander, who was chosen for her by her parents. The couple had a son, Mohnish Bahl, in 1961, who went on to become a popular television and film actor.
Nutan’s husband Rajnish Bahl died in 2004 after a fire broke out in his apartment.
