Remembering the great Bijon Bhattacharya, one of the finest Indian theatre & film personalities of all time, on his 41st death anniversary.
He was one of the founding members of the ‘Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA)’. Plays written by him dealt with the sufferings & struggles of the poor & backward people of Bengal.
He also delivered some brilliant acting performances in the films of acclaimed filmmakers like Ritwik Ghatak, Mrinal Sen & Buddhadeb Dasgupta.
This multifaceted man even co-wrote the film ‘Dharti Ke Lal’ with the director Khwaja Ahmad Abbas which was based on his unforgettable play ‘Nabanna’.
