Remembering I S Johar, one of Hindi cinema’s greatest comedians, on his 99th birth anniversary today.
I S Johar is one of the greatest comedians in Hindi cinema. Johar, who had a penchant for doing comedy roles, was much more than a comedian. Johar wrote screenplays, produced and directed many films. Johar worked in Hindi films from the 1950’s to 1980’s and was very much loved by the common masses.
A remarkably different comedian, Johar introduced a unique kind of intelligent comedy which was unadulterated and uproarious. Johar caught the audience imagination with his biting, at times juicy, satire.
