Remembering Bollywood’s character actor ‘Sambha’ Mac Mohan on his birth anniversary.

Mac Mohan will go down in history as the man who played ‘Sambha’ in the 1975 classic Sholay. The three words “Poore Pachaas Hazaar” in Sholay shot Mac Mohan or the gun-toting Sambha to fame.

Mohan Makijany came from Karachi to Mumbai to be a cricketer. Instead, he ended up being an actor. He was fluent in many languages, including Russian, French, and Spanish. On the screen, Mac Mohan settled for negative roles in the supporting cast. He acted in over 218 films including blockbusters like Don, Karz, Zanjeer, and Shaan.
