Salim Abdul Rashid Khan, born on November 24, 1935, is a famous writer, actor, and film producer. He has written many scripts for Bollywood movies. Along with Javed Akhtar, Salim formed a successful writing team called Salim-Javed. They were very popular and known for their great work in Indian movies. Salim mainly focused on creating stories and characters, while Javed wrote the dialogues.

The team Salim-Javed changed Indian movies a lot in the 1970s. They made new types of movies that became very popular, like the masala film and the Dacoit Western. Salim played a big part in creating the “angry young man” role, made famous by #AmitabhBachchan. Their movies, like Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, Zanjeer, Deewaar, Kranti, and the Don series, were big hits. Sholay was one of the most successful Indian movies ever.
