Ghulam is a 1998 action crime drama film, directed by Vikram Bhatt, and starring Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Deepak Tijori in the lead roles. It is a remake of Vishesh Films’ first production Kabzaa (1988), starring Sanjay Dutt, in turn inspired by Elia Kazan’s On the Waterfront (1954). Ghulam did well at the box office and was declared a ‘Super Hit’. The song Aati Kya Khandala, sung by Aamir Khan and Alka Yagnik, was a chart-buster and trendsetter. The movie was remade in Tamil in 2000 as Sudhandhiram.
