Khosla Ka Ghosla is a comedy-drama directed by Dibakar Banerjee in his first directorial venture; the screenplay was penned by Jaideep Sahni. The film features Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Parvin Dabas, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, and Tara Sharma in pivotal roles. It narrates the tale of Kamal Kishore Khosla, a middle-class resident of Delhi, and his family’s efforts to retrieve their land from a developer named Khurana.

The film was showcased at the 2006 Kara Film Festival and released on 22 September 2006, garnering widespread acclaim. It clinched the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 54th National Film Awards. It inspired remakes in Tamil in 2008 titled “Poi Solla Porom” and in Kannada in 2010 as “Rame Gowda vs Krishna Reddy”.

Many critics regard ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ as one of Banerjee’s finest works. Filmfare highlighted its success in their 100 Days series, noting its ability to captivate audiences despite lacking big stars and a relatively unknown director. The film’s significance was further underscored when it was featured in Shubhra Gupta’s book, ’50 Films That Changed Bollywood, 1995–2015.’

In a real-life twist in 2013, the Delhi Police Crime Branch apprehended a group of fraudsters who deceived individuals by selling them plots owned by the Delhi Development Authority using counterfeit documents. Authorities observed that the gang’s modus operandi seemed influenced by the film’s plot.
